TPO roofing systems are quickly growing in popularity and demand, in both residential and commercial flat roof markets, offering combined benefits of both, EPDM rubber and PVC roofs, but at a more economical cost than PVC but less cost effective than BUR. TPO offers a number of performance, installation and environmental advantages. However, because they are a fairly new product, there are some important considerations you need to be aware of before choosing to install a TPO roof on your home.
When looking at many physical properties such as thickness above scrim and weld strength, the TPOs are quite similar. However, there are big differences in accelerated aging. The thickest at 60 mil or 50 mil have greater durability, and our product manufacturers stand behind their products by offering up to a 30 year NDL on 60 mil TPO and up to a 25 year NDL on 50 mil TPO (and the latter is priced similarly to standard 60 mil TPO). There also 70 mil and 80 mil thicknesses with guarantees up to 35 years available.
While TPO has a track record of over 20 years of proven performance without systematic failure, there is a difference among membranes and our manufacturers are leaders in the industry for quality and warranty support.
Your investment is important to us; we are major suppliers of TPO and we will make sure you get the right TPO specification for your roof.
